O The Blood… Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Today our family celebrated Passover with the traditional meal, unleavened bread, the Seder plate, and Scripture reading.  A tradition we’ve done now for 31 years.  What a beautiful time to be reminded of all that Jesus did this week leading up to his crucifixion and great resurrection on Sunday!  I’m taken back more this year than ever before the sacrifice and price that Jesus paid on the cross for you and me.  He became sin that we would no longer be a slave to sin!  His shed blood is for the forgiveness of our sins; making us clean, blameless, and righteous before God.  His body was broken for our healing.  He became you and I on the cross crying out “My God my God, why have you forsaken me” that we may be His sons and daughters and call God “Abba Father”.  He bore in His body all God’s judgment and wrath that we may enter into the Holy of Holies and dine in His presence.  What a beautiful Savior we have!  His name is Jesus!

These last few Sundays we’ve been singing on the blood of Jesus during our time of worship.  Although our salvation and freedom is free, it didn’t come without a great price, the Darling of Heaven was slain for you and me.  His blood covers us, washes us, and cleanses us.  I’m ever so thankful for His blood that it covers all my sins; past, present, and future.  God loves you and I so much that He gave us His Son.  May God Himself reveal in a new way how loved and treasured you are.  This season of celebrating Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection is proof of His great love for you!    God’s Word tells us that “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” (Ephesians 1:4 NLT).  God sees you holy and faultless in His eyes.  It’s not on how you and I feel, what we think, or even what our circumstances tell us, but it is in His eyes and from His perspective, because of the blood and sacrifice of Jesus, we are holy and without fault!

Beloved of God, know you are holy, blameless, righteous, and without fault as you enter and dwell with your Savior and Father God today!  His blood washes you clean!  Be free and rest in His love for you!

This song is beautiful sung by Kari Jobe and Gateway Worship.  (You will have to click to view it on YouTube and then allow pop-ups to see the video.  I’m not sure how to get it to play directly.)
